Pracheen Kalakshetra meets Pracheen Kala Kendra

This is a great honor for Chandigarh to meet the galaxy of legendary artists studded with three Padmabhushanas and other revered Gurus all the way from Kalakshetra . Branches of the Banyan tree of Kalakshetra have reached the city beautiful with the mission to propagate and disseminate the soul of Kalakshetra through their vast and enormous experience and guidance.
Pracheen Kala Kendra the foremost organization dedicated to promote, preserve the propagate the Indian Classical Art and culture joins hands with Alumni Association of Kalakshetra to provide unique opportunity to interact with the star studded alumni through a Lecture demonstration titled Anubhuti : an experience by Sh. CV Chandrashekhar, Smt. Shanta And Shri VP Dhananjayan and Sh. CK Balagopal. Kendra is also going to organize an Art Exhibition of some most exquisite paintings rendered by senior faculty and alumni of the Kalakshetra Art Department accompanied by a talk and presentation on the journey of visual arts department under the guidance of Smt. Lakshmi Krishnamurthy on 4th March 2019 at 11:00 am onwards.
As a curtain raiser for above mentioned event , Kendra held a press meet in which these legends shared their vision about the performing Arts which was also attended by Guru Shobha Koser and Dr. Samira Koser.
Firstly PadmaBhushan Sh. CV Chandrashekhar said that “ With time everything goes through evolution , so is true with the Bharatnatyam Dance . New ideas have been incorporated in the traditional framework of Bharatnatyam without compromising with the age old techniques of Bhratnatyam and in his view Art never dies.
Another scholar Sh. VP Dhananjayan said, “ every artist should project the art in a right way which will project the artist later on. These days every artist is busy in promoting their selves glory only but Sh. Dhananjayji is of the view that if artist projects the art in right way and through proper sequence will bring the glory to the artist him/herself.
One of the senior Guru Jaya Teacher said that art needs complete dedication . Remembering her days She shared that they have been trained by the scholarly teachers who spent their whole life under the guidance of Rukmini Devi Arundale ji. In Gurukul the dedicated Gurus were 24/7 accessible to the students. She added that education in Guru Shishya Parampara should never be gauged by the perimeters of degrees or diplomas and she expressed her dismay on the rules and regulation s imposed on Kalakshetra by the government. Art is a lifelong process which grooms your soul to its core.
