Inspired by PM call for Ayushman Bharat, Clove Dental launches Dental Health Plan
Gurugram, Oral health and hygiene is among the last healthcare priorities for many. To build mass awareness on need and significance of oral care, country’s leading dental care chain Clove Dental has launched a special program ORAL – Oral Remedies, Awareness & Learning.
Clove Dental announced that given the rising incidence of oral ailments in Gurugram, we are launching this special service for citizens of Gurugram at a very affordable price with provisions of consultation, X-ray, scaling and polishing.
“We are glad to have responded to the call of Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi for a healthy India and launched country’s most affordable and comprehensive dental health plan at just over Re 1.30 a day or Re 499-a-year. Nine out of 10 Indians suffer from a dental issue yet they do not visit a dentist, either due to affordability or fear of a dentist. With the Dental Health Plan we aim to break both the barriers and make high quality dental healthcare services accessible to large number of citizens,” said Amarinder Singh, CEO, Clove Dental.
This initiative is influenced by Prime Minister’s vision of Ayushman Bharat, a program that aims at making interventions in primary, secondary and tertiary care systems, covering both preventive and promotive health, to address healthcare holistically. The National Health Protection Scheme will cover over 10 crore poor and vulnerable families and about 50 crore beneficiaries providing coverage up to 5 lakh rupees per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. Benefits of the scheme are portable across the country and a beneficiary covered under the scheme will be allowed to take cashless benefits from any public or private empaneled hospitals across the country.
“We continue to adopt various modes to reach out to masses. However, we realised that affordability and comfort are constant barriers in taking preventive measures, which led us to announce an affordable dental health plan,” said Lt Gen Dr Vimal Arora, Chief Clinical Officer, Clove Dental. The special plan offers users a Re 1500 coupons which can be used in about 70% of the treatments that the chain offers including filling, extraction, fluoride. The chain said it was not an insurance plan.
Dental and oral ailments are becoming extremely common in India and doctors at Clove Dental warn that if not contained, it could well surpass predominant ailments including heart problems and obesity. “We feel it imperative to work aggressively towards spreading awareness on why your teeth are important and how they are gateway to overall health. We are dedicating March towards this and through all forms of media platforms and our physical outreach, we are planning to take our message to 50 million citizens,” informed Dr Arora.
That the oral ailments are rising is borne out by the fact that as per Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) number of oral cancers have seen a rise of 114% since 2012.
With over 310 dental clinics across 23 cities manned by 775 doctors, Clove Dental is India’s leading dental care chain. Clove Dental is an industry leader making world-class dental care accessible to a large number of Indians and this mission is another step in that direction.
