Urusvati Centre for Contemporary Art hosted a glorious event at its premises in Shikohpur, Gurgaon recently on March 17’ 2019. The event was a vocal musical concert by highly acclaimed vocalist Mitali De. The event was sponsored by Sangeet Natak Academy. The Chief Guest of the event was the former first woman Chief Information Commissioner of the Central Information Commission of India Deepak Sandhu who too happens to be a vocalist par excellence. She is an Indian Information Service officer of the 1971 batch.
Mitali De has carved a niche as a well known Hindustani classical vocalist with a humongous experience of having performed at different nooks and corners across the length and breadth of the country for esteemed organizations.
A Sangeet Nipun from Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapeeth, Lucknow and a B’ high artist of AIR and Doordarshan, Mitalee De is a disciple of Vidushi Mandira Sharma Lahiri of Kolkata and noted vocalist Vidushi Dr Ashwini Bhide Deshpande of Mumbai.
Sharing more on the same, Komal Anand, Director, Urusvati Centre for Contemporary Art said, “Urusvati has in a short time frame managed to successfully establish itself as a destination for hosting varied genres of art and cultural exhibitions, programs and events. Besides organizing artist camps, we have also been hosting myriad cultural programs such as classic dance performances, musical concerts and puppet shows. It’s been an amalgamation of various factors namely our unique concepts, passion and soul soothing ambience which has led to Urusvati becoming a very popular spot for people of all age groups.”
