Ace tattooist Michael Cowasji has carved a niche for himself as the “Body Art Protagonist”. Having played a pivotal role in popularizing the fascinating Body Artworks in the country, “Mike” as he is fondly referred to, is all set to launch the tattoo artists of the country. Ever since he introduced his innovative tattoo designs some 25 years ago in 1994, there has been no looking back for Mike. His tattoo designs are a rage in cities of Delhi, Goa Lucknow, Pune and Mumbai to name a few.
Operating from his CR Park based Studio named “Mike’s Body Art Studio”, Mike has also been running a very successful training academy alongside for budding tattoo artists who aspire to acquire professional training in the field of tattoo art. All these years while he has established himself as an Ace Tattoo Professional, Mike has made a mark for himself as a “Good Samaritan”, and this is what pleases him the most. He never misses an opportunity to offer his counselling to those who approach him in suffering, distress and pain. Mike incidentally had always believed that a patient hearing followed with a honest advice can achieve more bigger results than any financial support.
Sharing more about his eventful journey, and the aspirations in the pipeline, Mike says, “I forayed into the field of Body Art 25 years ago in 1994 when there was negligible awareness about tattoo designs. My initial few years were full of struggle, but once people began appreciating my tattoo designs, there was just no looking back as clients poured in from all nooks and corners. I owe all my success to the blessings of the Lord and my late parents, both of whom were brutally murdered. The gruesome murder of my mother in 2011 left me totally shattered, and this had a direct bearing on my professional career. I had to experience more agony when my doting Aunt Barbara Antunis too passed away in 2014 leaving me completely devastated. Time being a great healer, I experienced an inner calling that guided me to devote time towards redeeming those in real need. When people ask me if I am a Roman Catholic or a Protestant, I simply respond saying that I am “Born Again.” On the personal front, while I have decided to dedicate my life towards altruistic activities, on the professional front, I wish to popularize Body Art in the country by organizing body art events, and alongside also address the pressing issues of the tattoo artists. The road ahead is indubitably full of challenges, but I am resolute in my quest of achieving my Mission.”
